Privacy Policy

What GenAI Studio collects, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.

Effective: September 27, 2026Applies to: the GenAI Studio app for iPhone and iPad (including on Macs with Apple silicon) and this website

The short version

  • No ads, no tracking, no data sales. The app has no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK of our own (the Google Firebase, Google Sign-In and Google Cast components it uses send Google basic diagnostic information to run those services), and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • Your prompts, results and history are stored in your account (Google Firebase, in the United States) so you can find them again on your devices.
  • Nothing is sent to an AI provider until you agree in the app. Each request goes to the provider of the model or voice engine you pick, with a few exceptions listed in section 5 (for example, the text in images you attach is read by OpenAI). You can review or withdraw your agreement in Settings › Privacy & AI.
  • We never store your microphone audio — only the text that comes back.
  • Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card details.
  • You can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time: Settings › Delete account.

1. Who we are

GenAI Studio (“the app”) is developed and operated by Sharath Kammari, an individual developer based in Texas, USA (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at sharathck3@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Account information

You can create an account with an email address and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. We collect a user ID, your email address, and your name if Apple or Google provides it when you sign in with them. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google); if you use a password, Firebase stores it in hashed form and we never see it. Firebase also records basic sign-in metadata, such as when the account was created and last signed in.

What you ask and what you create

So you can see your work again on any of your devices, your account stores:

  • Prompts you send, and the attachments you add to them (see below).
  • Generated results — text answers, images, audio and video — and your question history.
  • Saved prompts and their earlier versions.
  • Playlists in your audio library.
  • Dictation transcripts — the text of your dictations, saved as you speak so a long dictation is never lost.
  • The custom vocabulary and speaker-profile text you enter to help dictation spell names and terms correctly.
  • Your app preferences, such as the models, voices and engines you choose.

Your voice

The app uses your microphone only while you dictate or talk with a live voice agent. That audio is streamed to the speech or voice service you have chosen; if that service can’t be reached, it is recognized on your device by Apple’s speech recognizer instead. We do not store your microphone audio; only the resulting text is kept (for example, your dictation transcript). If you choose to transcribe an audio file, that file is sent to the transcription service you picked; if that service can’t transcribe part of it, that part is sent to another transcription service (OpenAI, Google or Microsoft).

Attachments

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files are converted to text on your device (scanned PDF pages are read with Apple’s on-device text recognition). The resulting text is sent with your question to each model you picked.
  • Images you attach to a question are read by an OpenAI model to extract their text, which is then sent with your question.

Credit, usage and purchases

We keep your credit balance and usage records (which generations used how much credit), and the App Store transaction identifiers of your purchases so we can confirm your subscription and add the credit you buy. See Purchases & credit.

Your consent record

We record the time you agreed to AI data sharing, and which version of the disclosure you agreed to, so we can show that we asked before sending anything.

Technical information

Our cloud providers keep standard service logs (for example IP address, time and type of request) to operate the service, prevent abuse and keep it secure. The app does not collect a device advertising identifier. If you have chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and basic diagnostics.

3. What we don’t collect

  • No location data, contacts, health data or browsing history.
  • No advertising identifier and no advertising SDKs.
  • No analytics SDKs of our own, and no tracking of you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The Google Firebase, Google Sign-In and Google Cast components send Google basic diagnostic and usage information that is not used to track you.
  • No sale of personal information, to anyone — and no data brokers.

4. How we use your information

  • To provide the app: send your requests to the models you choose, return the results, and keep your history, saved prompts, playlists and settings in sync across your devices.
  • To run billing: check your subscription, keep your credit balance, and add the credit you buy.
  • To support you when you contact us.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your content for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not train our own AI models on your content.

5. AI providers and your consent

GenAI Studio works by sending your requests to AI models run by other companies. For this:

  • The app asks for your agreement on a consent screen before it sends anything to an AI provider. That screen names the providers and what is sent.
  • Each request goes to the provider of the model or engine you pick. If you ask several models at once, your question goes to each of them. The exceptions are: images you attach to a question are first read by an OpenAI model to extract their text; Read aloud uses Microsoft Azure voices (with OpenAI as a backup); speech made with Gemini voices is checked for missing words by OpenAI’s transcription service; a part of an audio file that the transcription service you picked can’t handle goes to another transcription service (OpenAI, Google or Microsoft); web searches requested by the DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM models and by the GPT Live and Grok Live voice agents are run by Perplexity; the suggested questions on the main screen are written by Google Gemini from your recent questions; and when you choose to run a Claude model as an agent, the request passes through our own server on Google Cloud on its way to Anthropic.
  • What is sent is only what the request needs: your prompt and the text of your attachments; for images and video, your description; for speech, the text to be read aloud; and for dictation or live voice, your microphone audio. Your custom vocabulary and speaker-profile text are sent with GPT dictation, GPT audio-file transcription and to the live voice agents so they can spell names and terms correctly, and your recent questions are sent to Google Gemini to write the suggestions on the main screen.
  • Providers process your data under their own API terms to produce your result. We do not allow them to use it for advertising. Under their terms, some providers may keep request data for a limited time — for example, to monitor abuse.
  • You can review or withdraw your agreement at any time in Settings › Privacy & AI. After you withdraw it, the app sends nothing to an AI provider until you agree again. Withdrawing does not delete what is already stored in your account; to remove that, delete your account.
  • AI output can be wrong. Please check important information before relying on it (see the Terms of Use).

6. Service providers

These companies process data to run the app — on our behalf, or on yours when you use the related feature — under their own terms and privacy policies.

AppleApp Store payments and In-App Purchases, Sign in with Apple, and on-device speech recognitionHandled under Apple’s privacy policy; we receive transaction identifiers, never your card details

Which provider handles a request depends on the model, voice or engine you pick in the app. Their privacy policies: Firebase, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Perplexity, Novita AI, Apple.

7. What happens on your device

  • Document conversion: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files are turned into text on your device, and scanned PDF pages are read with Apple’s on-device text recognition.
  • On-device dictation: when the online speech service you chose can’t be reached, your speech is recognized on the device by Apple’s speech recognizer.
  • Casting: to play audio on a Chromecast or Google Home device, the app looks for Cast devices on your local network only when you cast. The device you choose then plays the audio. AirPlay is handled by iOS.
  • Saving to Photos: generated images are added to your Photos library only when you choose to save them.

8. App permissions

iOS asks you before the app can use any of these, and you can change your answer at any time in the Settings app.

PermissionWhy the app asks
MicrophoneDictating a prompt or talking with a live voice agent — only while you are doing so.
Speech RecognitionApple’s on-device dictation, as a backup when the online speech service can’t be reached.
Photos (add only)Saving generated images to your Photos library. The app cannot read your library.
Local NetworkFinding Chromecast and Google Home devices so you can play audio on them.

9. Purchases and credit

The GenAI Studio Monthly subscription and credit packs are sold and billed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple tells the app whether your subscription is active and which purchases you made; we store the App Store transaction identifiers, your credit balance and your usage records. We never receive your payment card details, billing address or Apple Account password.

10. When data is shared

We share personal information only:

  • with the service providers above, to run the features you use;
  • when you choose to share something from the app, for example through the iOS share sheet or by casting;
  • when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users, the public or us;
  • if the app is transferred to a new owner, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information and we will tell you before anything changes.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Retention and deletion

  • We keep your information until you delete it or delete your account.
  • Delete your account in the app: Settings › Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and its data — the records in our databases, your stored audio, images and videos, and the copies kept on your device. It cannot be undone. Copies in our providers’ backups are removed on their normal backup cycles.
  • Any remaining credit is forfeited when you delete your account.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Cancel it in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

You can also email us to ask for deletion, and we will confirm when it is done.

12. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud. Firebase security rules restrict each account to its own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password if you sign in with email.

13. Your rights and choices

  • See your history, saved prompts and settings in the app at any time.
  • Withdraw your agreement to AI data sharing in Settings › Privacy & AI, and turn off microphone, speech recognition or local network access in the Settings app.
  • Delete your account and data in the app.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by emailing sharathck3@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We may need to verify that the request comes from you, and we will respond within the time the law requires (for example, 30 days under the GDPR or 45 days under California law).

14. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

We process your personal data on these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the app and the subscription and credit you buy.
  • Consent: to send your requests to AI providers, which you agree to in the app and can withdraw at any time in Settings › Privacy & AI (withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened).
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). Please contact us first — we would like the chance to help.

15. If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws in other states (including Texas), you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (user ID, email address, and name if provided by Apple or Google); commercial information (subscription status, purchase transaction identifiers, credit balance and usage); audio information (your voice while you dictate or talk with a live voice agent, streamed to the provider you choose and not stored by us); user content (prompts, attachments, generated results, history, saved prompts, playlists and dictation text); and account log-in credentials, which are sensitive personal information used only to let you sign in. The sources are you and your devices. We use them for the purposes in section 4 and disclose them to the service providers in section 6 for those purposes.

We do not sell or share personal information (as those terms are defined in California law), have not done so in the past 12 months, and do not use sensitive personal information for anything other than providing the app. To exercise a right, email sharathck3@gmail.com; you may use an authorized agent. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line, and we will respond in writing within the time the law allows.

16. International transfers

We are based in the United States. Your account data is stored in the United States, and AI providers process requests in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires it, transfers from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers.

17. Children

GenAI Studio is for adults 18 and over, because it can generate unrestricted content from open-ended prompts. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

18. This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking, and it loads no scripts or fonts from other companies. It is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server logs. The “Download on the App Store” badge is loaded from Apple, so Apple receives the technical information your browser sends when loading it.

19. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect — and if it changes what is sent to AI providers, the app will ask for your agreement again.
